Paytm Delhi Metro Payments

Paytm is aggressively gaining ground in the offline payments space. The number of initiative launches over past few months are a clear indication of that fact. Now, according to a report by Gadgets360, Paytm wallet may soon be accepted for making payments for your Delhi Metro rides.

The report states that DMRC is currently testing a new token that will allow you to take rides in Delhi Metro and will automatically deduct the fare from your Paytm balance, instead of making you repeatedly recharge a Metro card.

Paytm has not officially commented on this development, but has said that DMRC tie-up is currently in the process and they will announce it in the near future.

Paytm has similarly partnered with Mumbai Metro and travelers can recharge the Mumbai Metro card online through Paytm website or mobile app.

Delhi Metro Initiatives

Earlier this year, DMRC had launched an app called ‘Offer World’, which was aimed at saving money for Metro travelers.  Every time the user downloads an app listed in the Offer World App, they will be offered set amount of recharge on their Metro smart card, which can then be used to buy tickets on Delhi Metro. The users will first need to register with the Offer World app to avail the benefits.

The Offer World app is currently available only to Android users, and you can download the app from here.

Delhi Metro also offers limited Free Wifi to passengers on board as well on Metro stations.

Since it’s launch, DMRC has been constantly trying to improve Delhi Metro service and make the journey comfortable for travelers. For their exemplary services, Delhi Metro was last year ranked at 2nd position just after London Metro in terms of customer satisfaction.
