Almost every Indian who uses an internet connection, wants to know when Reliance Jio’s 4G services will be launched for the masses and what it will offer. But the company didn’t announce anything till date. However, this was taken care of in the company’s 41st Annual general meeting when, Mukesh Ambani, Reliance Jio’s chairman unveiled what the company has planned for its 4G LTE services in near future. While there had been lot of speculation around Reliance 4G services, the official announcement and details came out for the first time during the AGM
According to AGM notes, Jio’s network is currently present in 29 states of India and also covers 18,000 towns and cities across the nation. The company aims to cover 80% of India’s population by the year-end and plans to have complete national coverage within the next 3 years. The company has so far, deployed 250,000 km of fibre throughout the country and will plans to deploy twice this length over the next 3 years.
“By April of next year, we would have connected over 1 million homes via fibre with a capability of rapidly scaling up in the top 50 cities of India,” mentioned the company in its 41st annual general meeting.
Now, besides launch just a 4G LTE network, Reliance Jio wants to go one step further by offering various services that the users will be able to enjoy on its highs-speed network.

Jio Chat
It is an IM that can be used for chatting, voice and video calling, conferencing, and file sharing including photos and videos. Jio Chat was launched this April and is available Google Play as well as Apple App Store.
Switch-and-Walk
This app will let users switch between different phones running operating systems with just a few touches. It will be able copy your contacts, messages, photos, music, media, and applications without any hassle.
Jio Drive
It is a cloud storage and backup service that will let the users store, sync and share the content between their devices. Users can also invite their friends to view their files.
Jio Play
It will be live streaming service that will let the subscribers watch HD TV having a variety of channels from anywhere and on any device. This is an on-demand app that will bring a multitude of Bollywood, Hollywood, and regional content on your 4G device.
Jio Beats
It is personalized music streaming service having millions of songs and playlists in its library. It will also have offline playback functionality.
Jio Mags
This app will let the users access the popular magazines with quite a few innovative but undisclosed features. It will also the users read old and the latest issue of the magazines.
Jio News
It will show the hottest and breaking news from leading new publishers across various categories and regional languages. The news will load instantly on the 4G network and can also be read offline.
Jio Ultra-Cheap 4G Devices
Although, no announcement was made in the AGM, it is clear that Reliance Jio will soon be launching ultra-cheap 4G devices priced around $30 or Rs. 2000. Here are the details that emerged last month
The company also mentioned that all these apps are being piloted as of now and will be launched with its 4G LTE network in near future. We had also reported that Reliance Jio is planning to launch these services in a bouquet pack costing under Rs. 500. Well, if it does that and also offers some gigabytes of 4G data with this pack, then it will disrupt the entire mobile services industry in India.
