India’s leading online classifieds portal Quikr is expanding the range of services it is offering – They have entered in a strategic partnership with Delhi based integrated multi-brand automotive network Carnation Auto to offer inspection services for used cars.
The inspection services stands to benefit used car buyers as well as sellers. The service will entail offering independent car inspection report that will help buyers and sellers to evaluate the car and reduce the hassles generally associated with purchasing a used car.
The inspection report will be prepared by qualified engineers after comprehensive examination of the car that will include evaluation of important factors such as noise, operations and performance.

How Does Quikr Benefit?
One would ask why would Quikr get into a service that is so far away from their core classifieds business. Simply because it is peripheral service that will bring in more classifieds on their portal, and at the same time, they stand to make money from it.
The inspection services are obviously for old cars, which sellers want to sell and buyers want to buy. By bringing in third party independent inspection services, the buyer is more likely to buy the car, where Quikr will make money through commissions.
How Does Carnation Benefit?
As far as Carnation goes, by having a tie-up with quikr they will be able to grow their brand and indirectly do more business. Carnation is essentially a Online car sales, insurance and servicing provider. These cars they will inspect will most probably need servicing – at the same time buyer will need car insurance when they make used car purchase, both of which Carnation offers.
This is a good strategic move by Quikr as well as Carnation, that will add to their bottom line!
