Bengaluru Most Liveable Indian City, Singapore Globaly
Singapore remains the most liveable location in Asia and the world, according to the latest Location Ratings for expatriate living conditions published by ECA International. Bengaluru, ranked 34th in Asia and 171st in the world is the most liveable location in India.
The annual rankings done by ECA international measures the quality of expatriate living conditions in over 450 locations around the world to arrive at a fair and consistent assessment of the level of difficulty the expatriate will experience in adapting to a new location. Factors evaluated include climate; availability of health services; housing and utilities; isolation; access to a social network and leisure facilities; infrastructure; personal safety; political tensions and air quality.

Rank of Indian Cities
Among Indian cities, New Delhi (ranked 204th in the world and 46th in Asia) ranked the worst liveable city. Also, along with Beijing, Delhi has the worst score for air quality not just in Asia but globally.
Mumbai ranked the second best city in India to live for expats. It is ranked 38th in Asia and 182nd globaly.
Chennai (182nd) ranked third best Indian city, followed by Pune (194th), Hyderabad (201st), Kolkata (203rd) and New Delhi (204th)
Pune is the most improved Indian city climbing 3 positions (From 44th in 2014 to 41st in 2015). On the other hand Hyderabad fell 2 places (From 41st in 2014 to 43rd in 2015). Chennai and Delhi fell one place each compared to previous year. Bengaluru and Mumbai maintained their 34th and 38th position respectively.
Global Rankings
In North America, Vancouver (24th globaly) is the most liveable location followed by San Francisco (40).
Among Top 5 Asian cities, except Singapore all of them were from Japan (Osaka, Nagoya, Tokyo and Yokohama)
Sydney and Adelaide are the best scoring locations in Australia (both in 2nd position globally) followed by Brisbane (5th). Wellington, also in 5th place is the most liveable New Zealand location surveyed.
Dubai (109th globally) is the location in the Middle East which requires the least adjustment for Asian assignees overall.
Significant deterioration in scores was also seen in Freetown (Sierra Leone), Monrovia (Liberia), Tripoli (Libya), Sana’a (Yemen) and Ouagadougou(Burkina Faso).
Globally, the hardest locations to adapt to living and working in are the Afghan locations of Lashkar Gah and Kandahar.
