For a merchant selling their goods on ebay, the biggest hassle for them is handling the logistics part. Ebay merchants are generally SMB’s (Small & medium sized businesses) and for them ensuring timelines & quality in delivery is one of the major head-aches as they have to rely on 3rd party courier companies. More often than not, these merchants are blamed in case of wrong or delayed shipping.
Ebay seems to have taken note of this and have come to Ebay Merchant’s rescue. They have launched PowerShip program which will allow Merchants to directly ship their merchandize through them. Ebay in turn has tied up with large Indian courier companies which will provide Pan-India courier coverage to sellers.
The Ebay merchant has to just sign-up for the program, package the item in eBay packing material and hand over the package to the assigned Logistic Service Provider during Item Pick-up. All of this achieved online through merchants eBay account!
Additionally, PowerShip includes Air mode, enabling quicker delivery of items to Buyers, Surface mode to manage volumetric and large size shipments and Cash On Delivery enabled through BlueDart in addition to Aramex for buyers who wish to pay for items on delivery. PowerShip sellers can avail special courier rates and ship to over 10,000 plus locations across 2500 cities and towns in India
How Powership Program works:
To join Powership program, Ebay seller needs to submit a sign-up request through his eBay account and accept the PowerShip Terms and Conditions. They will get a notification once approved and enabled for PowerShip program.
Overall, this is a great step by Ebay and a dream come true for Ebay merchants. They can now concentrate on their business and selling their merchandize rather than worrying about the logistics issues.
