As Qualcomm rolls its sleeves to prepare the launch of its new Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chip, brands are preparing to unveil their next-generation flagship smartphones.
Xiaomi 15 and OnePlus 13 to Feature Qualcomm’s Upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 4
With Xiaomi 15 and OnePlus 13, both Xiaomi and OnePlus have confirmed upcoming releases of their new flagship models. Both the phones are expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4, which Qualcomm is set to reveal during its Snapdragon Summit 2024 in Maui, Hawaii, from October 21 to October 23, 2024.
As compared to its predecessor, this new chip is expected to offer substantial improvements over last year’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.
Snapdragon 8 Gen 4, the Frenzy Around it & Promising Cutting-Edge Performance
Every time a big player in chip making space announces a new product, there is a frenzy in the brands to be the first one to get their hands on the rights and launch devices that shall be powered by these latest chipsets. As per Xiaomi, its upcoming flagship, the Xiaomi 15, will be among the first to use the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4.
As per the President of the Xiaomi Group, William Lu, the Xiaomi 15 shall feature significant upgrades which includes the ultra-high frequency, ultra-high performance, and ultra-low power consumption. Lu’s post on Weibo emphasizes that the Xiaomi 15 will push boundaries with its new chip, echoing how the Xiaomi 14 was the first to use the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 last year.
Similarly, OnePlus China President Louis Lee has hinted at the launch of the OnePlus 13, which is expected to debut with impressive performance technology. As per the post of Lee on Weibo, the new flagship will feature a cutting-edge dual-core architecture, developed by a renowned team known for creating ground-breaking PC chips.
The OnePlus 13 is anticipated to offer a superior performance experience, including an industry-first 120-frame experience for “Genshin Impact.”
Shortly after the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4’s official announcement, the Xiaomi 15 and OnePlus 13 are slated to launch in China in late October 2024.
