Tata Power Deploys 1 GWp Rooftop Solar Installations In 9 Months

In a recent development, Tata Power Solaroof has added 1 GWp installed rooftop solar capacity within the first nine months of FY26. 

As we know, Tata Power Solaroof is a rooftop solar solutions provider and a division of Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL).

Tata Power Solaroof Creating A Record PAT 

The renewable energy generation firm is set to create a record PAT and turnover from the rooftop business this year with a target of 1.4 GW for the year.

Considering the revenues, its PAT grew to Rs.123 crores in Q2, a 390% increase over the previous year, and on H1 basis it was Rs.213 crores. 

The company’s sales crossed the Rs.1,000 crores mark in a quarter for the first time in Q2 , a number the firm will beat comfortably in Q3 going by this announcement. 

This comprises the residential and the Commercial & Industrial (C&I) segments, said the company in a press release.

In the meantime, the Tata Power Solaroof added more than 1.7 lakh installations while registering a remarkable 345% YoY growth compared to 38,494 installations in the corresponding period of FY25.

Surge In Rooftop Solar Installation 

It appears that the company achieved its highest number of rooftop solar installations in Uttar Pradesh, completing 30,857 installations with an aggregate installed capacity of 128.13 MWp over the last nine months.

Following this, Maharashtra completed 21,044 installations totalling 126.33 MWp, Gujarat recorded 18,907 installations, contributing the highest installed capacity of 143.02 MWp, while Telangana added 14,622 installations further accounting for 62.08 MWp of installed capacity.

If we consider geographically, the Tata Power Solaroof has a strong growth across several key States. 

Out of these, Maharashtra has emerged as the leading contributor, with 41,827 installations delivering a cumulative capacity of 855.21 MWp. 

This was followed by Gujarat, which recorded 31,624 installations with an aggregate capacity of 525.81 MWp. 

Similarly, Tamil Nadu added 8,633 installations, aggregating to 318.35 MWp, while Chhattisgarh contributed 8,068 installations with a cumulative capacity of 285.62 MWp. 

All these states together underscore the Company’s execution prowess, robust pan-India presence and sustained growth momentum across major rooftop solar markets.

The Tata Power Solaroof has also achieved a record 58,476 rooftop solar installations during Oct- Dec Quarter i.e. Q3 FY26 further recorded a 242% year-on-year growth compared to 17,092 installations in Q3 FY25.

For the same time period, the company has onboarded 1.7 lakh new customers across Residential, Commercial & Industrial (rooftop and ground-mounted solar solutions).

With this addition, the company’s total customer base exceeds 3 lakh and cumulative installed capacity to over 4 GWp. 

When it comes to Tata Power Solaroof, the company has a pan-India presence supported by a network of 650+ channel partners.
