There are four attractive colour options for the same: Opera Blue, Downtown Red, Arcade Grey, and Avenue White.

The Altroz range has ALFA (Agile, Light, Flexible, and Advanced) Architecture platform as its foundation. It is the very same foundation that has earned the 5-Star Global NCAP adult safety certification.

Speaking of safety measures with the new CNG technology, the Altroz iCNG features a micro-switch to keep the car switched off during refueling.

There is also a thermal incident protection which the vehicle is equipped with, which shuts off the CNG supply to the engine and releases petrol into the environment as a safety measure.

According to the manufacturer’s statement, the Altroz iCNG ensures optimal safety with its twin cylinders positioned beneath the luggage area. This placement provides a safeguard for the valves and pipes, protecting them from potential damage underneath the load floor. Tata Motors also emphasizes the improved rear body structure and a 6-point mounting system for the CNG tanks, which enhance the Altroz iCNG’s safety in rear crashes. The model boasts an industry-first advanced Single ECU and features Direct Start in CNG mode, enabling smooth transitions between petrol and CNG modes without any jolts.

Inside the Altroz iCNG, there is a focus on comfort and convenience. It offers a voice-assisted electric sunroof, wireless charger, and air purifier. The vehicle is equipped with premium features including projector headlamps, LED daytime running lights (DRLs), R16 diamond-cut alloy wheels, an 8-speaker touchscreen infotainment system developed by Harman™ with Android Auto™ and Apple Carplay™ connectivity. Additionally, the Altroz iCNG features premium leatherette seats, fully automatic climate control, rear AC vents, a height-adjustable driver seat, and more. Powering the vehicle is a 1.2L Revotron engine, delivering a maximum power of 73.5 PS and a torque of 103 Nm.

Rise of Alternate Fuel Option Cars

Shailesh Chandra, Managing Director of Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd. and Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd during the launch of brand-new Altroz iCNG said that “Customers are increasingly choosing alternate fuel options with the intent of an economical as well as an eco-friendly drive. CNG as a fuel, with its wide availability and accessibility, has gained a lot of acceptance. However, opting for CNG meant compromising on aspirational features and significantly giving up boot space. In January 2022, we addressed the first compromise by launching the advanced iCNG technology in Tiago and Tigor, offering superior performance and top-end features. Today, we are delighted to launch the Altroz iCNG, an industry-first offering that will redefine the CNG market by addressing the major concern of boot space.”

Further touching on the topic of customer centricity and need understanding, he said that “The Altroz iCNG is a testament to our deep understanding of the customer’s need and our engineering prowess. With the breakthrough of the twin-cylinder CNG technology and advance features we are expecting more personal segment buyers to strongly consider this option. Our multi-powertrain strategy in the Altroz portfolio today offers petrol, diesel, iturbo and iCNG, providing an array of options for the customers to choose from. The Altroz iCNG will bolster our expansive New Forever range and continue to sustain our growth momentum in passenger cars.”
