TATA.ev has launched its first 10 high-speed MegaChargers, marking a significant step in its ambitious plan to establish 500 MegaChargers across India. This initiative is part of a broader effort to build a reliable and widespread EV charging infrastructure, addressing a key barrier to EV adoption: range anxiety. The rollout is in collaboration with EV infrastructure leaders ChargeZone and Statiq, focusing on major highways and urban hubs to support long-distance EV travel.

MegaChargers: Fast Charging & Convenience Across Key Routes

These MegaChargers are strategically placed along important corridors like Mumbai–Ahmedabad, Delhi–Jaipur, Pune–Nashik, and cities including Bengaluru and Udaipur. On the Mumbai–Ahmedabad route, three chargers serve Vadodara, Vapi, and Ghodbunder, with Vadodara featuring a flagship 400kW charger capable of charging six vehicles simultaneously and providing 150 km of range in just 15 minutes. The Delhi–Jaipur highway hosts four chargers spaced every 60 km, offering 120kW fast charging at popular stops. Urban centers like Bengaluru and Udaipur also benefit from well-located charging stations catering to daily commuters and tourists.

Besides speed, these MegaChargers enhance the user experience by offering amenities such as restrooms, cafes, Wi-Fi, retail stores, and co-working spaces, making stops convenient and comfortable. Tata customers enjoy perks including up to 25% charging discounts, priority service, and 24/7 support. Charging is made easy through the iRA.ev app, featuring auto charge and RFID options.

Collaborative Drive Towards a Nationwide, Future-Ready EV Charging Network

Executives from TATA.ev, ChargeZone, and Statiq emphasized the collaboration’s role in accelerating EV adoption by creating a trusted, accessible, and reliable charging network. With a goal to more than double public EV charging points to 400,000 by 2027, TATA.ev’s MegaCharger rollout is a foundational step towards a robust, future-ready EV ecosystem in India.

Summary:

TATA.ev launched its first 10 high-speed MegaChargers across major Indian highways and cities, enhancing EV charging with fast, reliable access and amenities. In partnership with ChargeZone and Statiq, this initiative aims to expand infrastructure, reduce range anxiety, and support India’s goal of 400,000 public EV chargers by 2027.
