In his recent weekly newsletter, Gurman disclosed that Apple is developing a novel system to ensure that all iPhone models are updated to the latest available software prior to sale. This process is anticipated to occur while the devices are still securely packaged.
Apple plans to create a specialized pad-like device on which an iPhone box can be placed. The iPhone contained within the box would then be updated to the most up-to-date software.
How Does The New System Work?
The envisaged system at Apple has the capability to wirelessly activate the iPhone in question, update its software, and power it off, all while the device remains packaged. Gurman speculates that Apple is striving to introduce this technology in its official retail outlets by the conclusion of this year. It remains unclear if Apple will offer this feature to its partner retail stores.
