Samsung’s upcoming foldable smartphone lineup has reportedly suffered another major leak, revealing potential pricing details for the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Flip 8. The devices are expected to be unveiled during Samsung’s Galaxy Unpacked event in London on July 22, where the company is also anticipated to showcase new AI-powered features and wearable devices.

According to reports citing South Korean carrier information, Samsung may increase prices for some of its next-generation foldables, largely due to rising memory chip costs and growing hardware expenses.
Leaked Korean Prices Revealed
The leaked pricing suggests the Galaxy Z Flip 8 could start at KRW 1,683,000 (approximately $1,099), while the Galaxy Z Fold 8 may carry a starting price of KRW 2,278,000 (around $1,485). The premium Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra is reportedly expected to begin at KRW 2,577,000 (roughly $1,681).
Higher storage variants are also expected to command a significant premium. Reports indicate that moving from 256GB to 512GB storage could cost buyers an additional KRW 253,000, reflecting broader increases in memory component pricing across the smartphone industry.
Fold 8 Ultra Could Become Samsung’s Most Expensive Foldable
The biggest surprise in the leak is the introduction of the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, which is expected to sit above the standard Fold 8 in Samsung’s foldable lineup. The Ultra model is reportedly designed to compete directly with premium foldable devices from Chinese manufacturers and the rumoured foldable iPhone expected from Apple.
Leaks suggest the Fold 8 Ultra could feature improved cameras, a larger battery, advanced AI capabilities and Samsung’s most powerful mobile hardware to date. Some reports also point to a 50MP ultra-wide camera upgrade and enhanced productivity features.
Wider Fold Design May Address User Complaints
The standard Galaxy Z Fold 8 is expected to adopt a wider form factor, making the external display feel more like a traditional smartphone. This design change could address one of the most common criticisms of previous Galaxy Fold models, whose narrow cover screens were often considered less practical for everyday use.
Samsung is also expected to equip the new foldables with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, Android 17-based One UI 9 and expanded AI-powered features.
Official Confirmation Still Pending
While multiple leaks point to similar pricing figures, Samsung has not officially confirmed any prices or specifications. Industry analysts expect final pricing to vary slightly across markets due to taxes, import duties and regional strategies.
With less than three weeks remaining until the expected launch, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 series appears set to become Samsung’s most ambitious and potentially most expensive foldable lineup yet.
