Redmi has introduced the A5, a new budget smartphone in India starting at just Rs 6,499. Blending affordability with standout features, the Redmi A5 includes a 120Hz refresh rate display, a 32MP AI dual rear camera, and a stylish design inspired by the upcoming iPhone 16. The first sale kicks off on April 16.

Pricing, Variants, and Availability
The Redmi A5 is available in two configurations:

  • 3GB RAM + 64GB at Rs 6,499
  • 4GB RAM + 128GB at Rs 7,499

Users can virtually extend the RAM up to 8GB and expand storage up to 2TB. It will be available via Amazon, Flipkart, Mi.com, and offline retail stores. The phone is offered in Jaisalmer Gold, Just Black, and Puducherry Blue.

Impressive Display and Design
The Redmi A5 features a 6.88-inch HD+ display with 120Hz refresh rate and 240Hz touch sampling rate, along with triple TUV Rheinland certification. With a peak brightness of 600 nits, the display delivers smooth visuals and vibrant colors. The rear camera setup is vertically aligned, resembling the design of the iPhone 16.

Powerful Performance and Build
Powered by a Unisoc processor, the A5 runs on HyperOS based on Android 15. It has an IP52 rating for water and dust resistance and includes a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. The device also comes with 4GB RAM and 128GB internal storage, with support for memory expansion.

Battery and Camera Capabilities
Backed by a 5,200mAh battery, the Redmi A5 supports 15W USB Type-C fast charging. It boasts a 32MP AI dual rear camera and an 8MP front camera, making it ideal for photography and video calls. Redmi also promises 2 years of software updates and 4 years of security updates.

With its premium features at a budget price, the Redmi A5 sets a new standard in the entry-level smartphone segment.
