Central Railways Cuts Passenger Train Ticket Rates By 40-50%

Major Financial Relief for Daily Office-Goers
Ordinary non-air conditioned second class fares for routes now operated by Mainline Electrical Multiple Units (MEMU) and Diesel Electrical Multiple Units (DEMU) trains have come down by 50% for many sectors compared to costs over last two years.
For instance, some suburban stretches have seen prices decrease from Rs 65 earlier to Rs 30 now – half of what daily travelers were shelling out additionally due to the pandemic-triggered realignment.
