Electric two-wheelers, with their environment friendliness and economical driving have taken the Indian market by storm.

Ola Electric Scooter's Front Suspension Breaks At 35 Kmph Speed; Driver Injured, Investigation Is On

One of the top-selling electric two-wheelers in the Indian market is Ola Electric’s S1. However, not always everything is hunky and dory for the two wheelers as multiple issues have been reported like breaking of the scooter’s front suspension, tons of cases of which have been reported in the past.

There was another incident in which the rider, after falling from the scooter while it was in motion, suffered several injuries.

Ola S1 Electric Scooter Accident

As per a tweet by Samkit Parmar, his wife was riding her Ola S1 electric scooter at a speed of about 35 kmph when the front wheel broke out of the suspension, resulting in the rider being thrown away in front.

Parmar claims that his wife is currently in ICU because of this incident.

Speaking of the front suspension, both Ola S1 and S1 Pro are equipped with a single fork suspension at the front. On the other hand, the more affordable S1 Air launched last year makes use of a conventional telescopic (twin) fork unit.

The rear suspension makes use of a monoshock on the S1 and S1 Pro, while the S1 Air gets dual shock absorbers instead.

What is not clear from the gruesome facial injuries is the fact that whether or not the rider was wearing the helmet.

It is highly recommended by our team to wear a full-face helmet at all times while riding a motorcycle or a scooter and also follow each and every traffic rule, including driving/riding as per the mandated speed limits.

Suspension Breakage to be Investigated

An official comment from Ola is awaited. Notably, with more than one case of the suspension breaking suddenly there could be a design or structural issue with the single fork suspension upfront. More details from the incident are awaited and we’ll update them as we get them.
