The Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, Pushkar Singh Dhami on Wednesday has announced that with immediate effect, the interview system in all Group ‘C’ examination will be abolished.

A recruitment exam scam was reported and the Uttarakhand government made a request to the High Court on Tuesday to get an inquiry conducted into the same.

This decision came after a day of the request and came under the supervision of a sitting HC judge.

No More Interview System in Group “C” Examination

CM Dhami while addressing a ‘gratitude rally’ organised at the Ramlila Maidan in Haldwani by the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha on the occasion of the implementation of the anti-cheating law, said that the move will ensure transparency in examinations and secure the future of the youth.

He said that “Any Group ‘C’ examination, whether it is being conducted by the Public Service Commission or any other commission in the state, the system of interview in all examinations should be abolished with immediate effect. This will also include technical and non-technical posts; such as posts of JE”.

Now that we know what is new in the exam category, lets focus on which all jobs come under the type “C” category

Which All Job Categories Come Under Type “C”?

In the Government departments of Uttarakhand, Samuh G (Group C) is the most common job category.

Grade C, Class C and Class III posts are equivalent to Samuh G posts. 

Grade C posts entail LDC, UDC, Assistants, Pharmacists, Junior Engineer and other Clerk Grade jobs.

When it comes to the eligibility criterion of these examinations, then Class 12, Graduates are minimum educational qualification.

Commissions such as UKPSC, UBTER, UKSSSC etc releases various posts of Samuh G in different departments of Uttarakhand.

Candidates with Class 12 and Graduates educational qualifications can apply for Group C vacancies in Uttarakhand. 

Many posts such as Nurse, Clerk, Technician, Technical Assistant, Pharmacist, Data Entry Operator, Hospital Attendant, House Keeping, Forest Guards, Office Attendant, Electrician, Stenographer, Accountant etc are released under the Group C posts by many government department of Uttarakhand.
