Owing to the rapid growth of SUVs and crossovers, the hatchbacks and sedans have been witnessing ever-shrinking sales figures in recent times.

New Avatars Of Tata Altroz, Maruti Suzuki Baleno Launching In 2025

Two Premiums Hatchbacks Soon To Be Launched 

Besides them, MPVs and premium hatchbacks continue to own their signature space in the Indian passenger vehicle market. 

So far, Maruti Suzuki has its Baleno, while Hyundai sells the i20 in sedan and hatchback space respectively.

Besides them, Tata Motors is another player in this segment having the Altroz and its sporty version, Altroz Racer, in this category. 

Toyota also holds a stake in this segment with its Glanza which is actually a rebadged iteration of the Baleno. 

Volkswagen is also readying to launch its Golf GTI performance-focused hot hatch in India soon.

Although, it will fall into a separate league while competing with higher-positioned Mini Cooper S.

It appears that the Tata Altroz holds a significant role in the Indian premium hatchback segment.

The company’s design philosophy, premium appeal, range of upmarket features and a plethora of powertrain choices across petrol, diesel, naturally aspirated and turbocharged units. 

Tata Motors is also all prepared to launch a facelifted version of the Altroz which is slated to hit the market on May 22.

 Similarly, the Maruti Suzuki Baleno is also scheduled to receive a facelift possibly in the second half of 2025.

Maruti Suzuki Baleno Specifications 

As we know, the Maruti Suzuki Baleno is placed in the bestselling premium hatchback in India and it is being sold through the car manufacturer’s premium Nexa retail network. 

It would be offered with an updated design philosophy and more features at the exterior, while inside the cabin, there would be a more upmarket vibe. 

Although, its powertrain choices will remain unchanged.

Tata Altroz Facelift Specifications 

While giving us an idea of the changes, the Tata Altroz facelift has already been teased.

This new offering will come with a revamped front and rear profile owing to twin-barrel LED headlamps, updated bumpers, sleek LED strip connecting the taillights. 

Besides this, there will be new alloy wheels. 

For the interiors, the Altroz facelift is expected to come with a new touchscreen infotainment system, revised instrument cluster, updated seats and upholstery and more advanced features. 

Moving ahead, this model will be powered by the same engine and transmission choices as the current Altroz.
