Japanese Ambassador Hiroshi Suzuki has invited Indian students and youth to explore study and work opportunities in Japan, assuring easy student visa approval requiring just a college ID. He outlined relaxed norms allowing graduates short recreational Japan trips too.

Highlighting promising skill development schemes and strong job avenues, Suzuki conveyed that immense potential awaits Indian aspirants in Japan today courtesy streamlined visa processes and deepening bilateral ties facilitating exchanges.

Specifically addressing students, the Ambassador reassured getting study visas is extremely simple by only providing student IDs, urging young Indians to consider Japan’s quality education offerings.

Additionally, Suzuki shared that Indian graduates can now submit student status certificates instead of financial proofs when applying single-entry Japan tourist visas within 3 years of finishing college. This intends boosting youth visitors.

The envoy expressed optimism around the growing influx of Indians opting for studying or professional opportunities in Japan. He also shared first-hand culinary experiences, terming Indian food a “culture shock” albeit tasty.

Suzuki humorously recalled a spicy Maharashtrian Misal Pav meal challenge with his wife during his Pune travels. Among preferred destinations, he highlighted majestic Ranthambore and serene Darjeeling’s impressions.

On India-Japan contrasts, Suzuki pointed to languages as a key differentiator, noting Japan’s standardized writing system versus India’s diverse linguistic identities and scripts varying state-wise. He implied every Indian state harbors distinct cultures akin separate countries.

Overall, Suzuki’s invite signals both nations’ aspirations for greater youth-focused bilateral engagement, setting the stage for stronger ties leveraging promising people-to-people connectivity. The simplification of student-related visa policies forms a stepping stone.
