International Yoga Day Celebrations Create Guinness World Record: Citizens From 135 Nations Perform Yoga With PM Modi!

The event set a new Guinness World Record for the highest number of nationalities participating in a Yoga session.

Yoga World Record Created At UN Headquarters in New York

During his address at the special event, PM Modi highlighted the ancient roots of Yoga in India and emphasized its universal nature. He mentioned that Yoga is a timeless tradition that transcends boundaries and is not subject to copyrights, patents, or royalty payments.

Furthermore, Yoga can be practiced by individuals of all ages, genders, and fitness levels, and its portability makes it accessible to everyone.

To commemorate the 9th edition of the International Day of Yoga, Prime Minister Modi personally led a special Yoga session on the lawns of the UN headquarters.

This remarkable accomplishment was celebrated by Amit Shah, who took to Twitter to express his admiration for PM Modi’s efforts. Shah stated that the Guinness World Record achieved by Yoga enthusiasts from various parts of the world, in the presence of PM Modi, is a testament to the inclusive spirit of Yoga and a tribute to India.

PM Modi’s Global Promotion of Yoga Showcased India’s Cultural Power

According to Shah, PM Modi’s global promotion of Yoga not only showcased India’s cultural power but also instilled a sense of unity and a fresh perspective on a global scale.

He tweeted, “A landmark day for India. The world witnessed the power of India’s culture as PM @narendramodiJi practised Yoga at the UN HQs on #InternationalDayofYoga today. Modi Ji not just promoted Yoga on a global platform but reclaimed India’s glory by gifting a new worldview of unity.”

Michael Empric, the official adjudicator from Guinness World Records, confirmed the successful attempt to set a new record. He revealed that the goal was to have participants from 140 nationalities, and although they fell slightly short with 135 nationalities represented, it still secured a new Guinness world record title.

Empric expressed his delight in seeing people of diverse nationalities coming together once again, reminiscent of their collective support for India’s proposal to celebrate 2023 as the ‘International Year of Millets’ last year. This achievement serves as a testament to the power of Yoga in bringing people together across borders.
