IT services major Infosys has kicked off its annual performance appraisal for employees, raising expectations of a potential salary hike in 2026. Employees received an internal email from HR asking them to complete self-evaluations by October 17, marking the start of the review cycle for FY25.

“This is a routine exercise, but we hope the company will give us a raise this time, unlike last year,” an employee told ET.
Infosys’ annual review cycle runs from October to September, with ratings disclosed by January and appraisal letters released by June each year.
Appraisals Follow a Challenging Year
Infosys’ previous salary revisions were implemented in two phases during 2025, after a delay in the FY24 cycle. Employees at the JL5 level and below (up to team leads) received pay hikes effective January 1, while JL6 and above got increases from April 1.
However, the average hike was 5–10% lower compared with the 2023 cycle, following a year when the company had frozen raises to conserve cash.
| Appraisal Period | Effective Date of Hike | Employee Band | Average Hike |
|---|---|---|---|
| FY23–FY24 | November 1, 2023 | All bands | 8–10% |
| FY24–FY25 | January–April 2025 | JL5 & JL6+ | 5–8% |
| FY25–FY26 | Expected mid-2026 | TBD | TBD |
Focus on Development and Future Goals
This year’s evaluation emphasizes career growth and skill building. Employees have been asked to document achievements, challenges, and development goals aligned with future roles.
“This is your opportunity to reflect on your key efforts, outcomes, and achievements, and set future-ready goals,” the internal HR mail stated.
Performance ratings—ranging from “Met Expectations” to “Outstanding”—will determine pay hikes.
Industry-Wide Appraisal Season Begins
Infosys’ rival TCS has also begun its annual performance evaluation, with salary hikes for employees at C3A level and above effective September 2025. High performers at TCS are reportedly receiving double-digit increments, reflecting growing optimism in India’s IT sector as demand gradually recovers.
Infosys is set to announce its Q2 FY26 financial results on October 16, which could offer insights into its appraisal-linked compensation plans for the coming year.
