Vivo has officially unveiled its Android 16-based OriginOS 6 interface in China, ahead of the global launch scheduled for October 15. The new update introduces a visually refreshed interface featuring translucent design elements, seemingly inspired by Apple’s iOS 26 Liquid Glass look. Beyond aesthetics, Vivo promises improved system stability, enhanced battery performance, and a range of AI-powered features.

Vivo Launches Android 16 Based OriginOS 6: India Launch On Oct 15

Transition from FunTouch OS to OriginOS
Vivo had earlier confirmed that both Vivo and iQOO smartphones in India and other global markets will transition from FunTouch OS to OriginOS with Android 16. The Indian version is expected to closely mirror the Chinese release, albeit with region-specific customizations for local users.

Redesigned User Interface
OriginOS 6 takes design cues from iOS 26, offering translucent effects and smoother layering. Key UI features include Gradual Blur, which progressively blurs background layers for better visual hierarchy, and Light and Shadow Space, which adds depth and realism to interface elements. Other enhancements include a revamped lock screen notification stack, interactive live wallpapers that react to device movement, expanded customization options, and new lighting animations for Vivo’s Xiao V AI assistant.

Performance Improvements
Vivo China highlights several performance upgrades in OriginOS 6. Frame rate stability has improved by up to 11%, while memory recycling efficiency has increased by 15%. Apps now launch 11% faster, and system-wide animations are smoother, creating a more responsive and visually appealing experience. Battery performance is also optimized, ensuring longer usage times without compromising system speed or fluidity.

India Launch and Availability
The global launch of OriginOS 6 is set for October 15, and Vivo is expected to roll out the update to eligible Indian smartphones shortly afterward. Both Vivo and iQOO devices running Android 16 will benefit from the new interface, combining aesthetic refinements with practical performance improvements.

With OriginOS 6, Vivo aims to offer an iOS-inspired, AI-driven experience while delivering tangible performance gains and customization options tailored to modern smartphone users.
