HCLTech reported a 21.2% year-on-year increase in consolidated net profit for the second quarter of the financial year 2026-27, supported by growth in its services business and rising demand for artificial intelligence solutions. The company’s net profit reached Rs 5,132 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2026, compared with Rs 4,235 crore in the corresponding period last year.

Revenue also increased, although the company continued to face an uncertain global technology spending environment and growing disruption from AI-led automation.

Revenue Rises to Rs 35,620 Crore

HCLTech’s consolidated revenue grew 11.5% year-on-year to Rs 35,620 crore in Q2 FY27. Revenue increased approximately 3% sequentially from Rs 34,579 crore in the June quarter.

The company’s operating performance also improved, with its EBIT margin reaching 18.2%, up 131 basis points from the previous quarter. The margin included the impact of restructuring costs during the period.

While net profit exceeded analysts’ expectations, revenue came in marginally below the average estimate, indicating that demand conditions remain uneven across the IT services industry.

Advanced AI Revenue Records Strong Growth

Artificial intelligence continued to emerge as an important growth driver for HCLTech. The company’s advanced AI revenue reached $219 million during the quarter, rising 28.4% sequentially and approximately 78% year-on-year.

The growth reflects increasing enterprise demand for AI implementation, automation and advanced technology services. IT companies are increasingly investing in AI capabilities as customers seek productivity improvements and new digital solutions.

However, AI is also changing traditional IT services pricing models, with some customers increasingly linking payments to productivity and business outcomes rather than employee hours.

New Deal Wins Reach $3.26 Billion

HCLTech secured new deal wins worth $3.26 billion during the quarter, compared with $2.57 billion in the year-ago period.

The bookings included a significant $1.14 billion contract with Mercedes-Benz. The order pipeline provides potential support for future revenue, although the timing of contract execution and conversion into recognised revenue will depend on delivery schedules and customer requirements.

The company also added 6,450 employees during the quarter, taking its total workforce to 230,339. Fresh graduate hiring contributed to the increase, reflecting continued investment in technical talent.

HCLTech Revises FY27 Revenue Growth Guidance

The company raised the lower end of its full-year revenue growth forecast to 2.5% from 1%, while retaining the upper end at 4%. It now expects constant-currency revenue growth of 2.5% to 4% for FY27.

For its services business, HCLTech expects constant-currency growth of 3% to 4%. Its full-year operating margin guidance remains unchanged at 17.5% to 18.5%.

Management cited improving demand towards the end of the quarter but cautioned that the business environment remains fluid because of geopolitical uncertainty and AI-driven changes.

Rs 12 Interim Dividend Announced

HCLTech’s board declared a second interim dividend of Rs 12 per share for FY27. The record date is October 16, 2026, while payment is scheduled for October 26, 2026, subject to the applicable terms.

The dividend provides an additional return to eligible shareholders alongside the company’s operating performance.

Summary

HCLTech reported a 21.2% year-on-year increase in Q2 FY27 net profit to Rs 5,132 crore, while revenue rose 11.5% to Rs 35,620 crore. Advanced AI revenue reached $219 million, and new deal wins totalled $3.26 billion. The company raised its annual revenue growth guidance to 2.5% to 4% and declared an interim dividend of Rs 12 per share.
