Recently, we interacted with Mr. Vijay Sharma, Country Head India, Optoma Corporation – a visual solutions provider that has delivered stunning experiences to millions of people since 2000.

Growth of projector market in India

In 2022, the Indian projector market expanded by over 25%, and we anticipate that trend to continue in 2023. I think it is accurate to say that the professional audio-visual sector has gained momentumsince 2021. We get substantial growth in B2B segment and notable increase in product sale in the B2C segment as well. At the same time the home theatre business has grown like never before because consumers are preferring to enjoy video content on bigger screen at home. Many of them prefer home projectors to television when watching movies,sports, events etc.

Expansion plan in 2023

In order to address the demand coming from the market, we are developing advanced projection products. Our recent green projector range offers significant long-term savings and are appropriate for the commercial and academic purposes. Our more affordable IFP line will make its debut alongsidecoupled with upgrades to the current premium 5 series this year. 

Our reach with direct partners has increased multiple folds in last 2 year since the lock down has lifted.

We are doubling the number of employees in the sales team to improve client interaction and sales support. 

Eco-friendly projectors

Optoma is committed to offering trustworthy, affordable, and eco-friendly products that improve the lives of people everywhere. The new line of projectors can save approximately half the power consumption as compared to the lamp-based projectors and help in decreasing carbon footprint for long-term usage than the lamp-based projectors thanks to the most recent laser technology and improved power conversion efficiency.Optoma’s new range of projectors ZX350e, ZW350e, ZH350, AZX360ST, AZW360ST & AZH360ST have been designed keeping in mind environmental friendliness. These new Generation projectors are energy saving, mercury free and more economical making it the only projector available in the market which offers lower Carbon Footprints as compared to other brands available in the market.

Demand of gaming and cinema projector in India

The growth of the gaming market is a good news for the projector industry and Oproma is ready to leverage this. We provide a dedicated product range for gamers in order to match the demand coming from this market segment. For gamers, we have 4-5 full HD and 4K models that are unique from other projectors in terms of response time. Technically, viewers are more interested in how the colours, brightness, contrast, and other features appear when watching entertainment or watching films at home. The home entertainment category has a whole distinct product line-up, similar to this. 

Introduction of new technologies and features in projectors to meet the market demand 

To meet the demand, we at Optoma continuously innovate. Nowadays, laser technology is a hot topic, but we had launched a series of environmentally friendly projectors back in 2022 based on laser technology. Most of the leading projector producers will expand their laser product lines. We as a brand will take the lead in the projector industry in 2023 as laser technology unquestionably changes the rules of the game.

New Launches

D2, a low-cost, ultra-short throw laser projector, has already been launched. The 4K laser projection TV with smart features, D2+, will be unveiled soon. L2 will be yet another addition to the home projector’s Ultra Short Projector TV category. It will be less expensive than the current laser-based alternative in our portfolio and will be an LED-based variant.
