BSNL Introduces Budget-Friendly Broadband Plan

State-owned telecom operator BSNL has introduced one of its most affordable broadband plans, targeting users in rural areas who want high-speed internet at a low monthly cost. While the plan is priced at ₹259 per month, its effective monthly cost comes down to around ₹241 when customers opt for the annual subscription.

The affordable pricing makes the plan an attractive option for households looking for reliable broadband connectivity without spending heavily every month.

What The Plan Offers

The broadband plan provides internet speeds of up to 25 Mbps along with 700GB of high-speed data every month. After the Fair Usage Policy (FUP) limit is exhausted, customers can continue using unlimited internet at a reduced speed of 2 Mbps.

In addition to broadband connectivity, the plan also includes unlimited voice calling to any network across India through the FTTH landline connection, offering added value for families and small businesses.

Annual Subscription Brings Bigger Savings

Customers choosing the annual payment option can reduce their effective monthly expense to approximately ₹241. Besides lowering the monthly cost, the annual plan also eliminates the need for monthly bill payments, making it a convenient option for long-term users.

BSNL is also promoting easy installation and wider availability of Bharat Fibre services in rural and semi-urban regions, where affordable broadband demand continues to grow.

Competing With Private Broadband Providers

The launch comes as BSNL looks to strengthen its broadband business against private telecom operators such as Jio and Airtel. While most entry-level fibre plans from private providers begin at higher price points, BSNL’s new offering focuses on affordability without compromising on essential internet services.

The company hopes the competitive pricing will attract new customers, particularly in areas where budget-friendly broadband options are limited.

A Push Towards Digital Connectivity

Affordable broadband has become increasingly important as more people work remotely, attend online classes, access digital government services, and consume streaming content from home. By introducing lower-cost fibre plans, BSNL aims to expand internet access and support India’s digital connectivity goals, especially in underserved regions.

Summary

BSNL has launched one of its most affordable broadband plans, offering up to 25 Mbps speed, 700GB of high-speed data, unlimited internet after FUP, and unlimited voice calling. While the monthly plan costs ₹259, customers opting for the annual subscription can reduce the effective monthly cost to around ₹241, making it an attractive option for budget-conscious broadband users.
