Apple To Partner With Samsung or LG For Foldable Screen Device
Apple is said to be considering partnerships with Samsung or LG for the development of the foldable screen, which could have significant implications for the industry in the coming years. The product unveiling is anticipated to occur in 2025, with the official launch scheduled for 2026, following a timeline similar to the Apple Vision Pro.
Samsung is likely to be a major beneficiary of Apple’s product plans, as the South Korean brand is reportedly investing billions in establishing a dedicated unit for manufacturing foldable OLED panels, which could also be used in its own products. Given Samsung’s expertise in foldable screens for smartphones, expanding into laptops seems like a natural progression for the company.
Foldable MacBook To Come With A High Price
When it comes to pricing, Apple is known for its premium offerings, and the foldable MacBook is expected to follow suit. A high price tag, similar to the Apple Vision Pro headset launched earlier this year, is anticipated for the foldable MacBook.
In addition to the foldable Macs, Apple may also introduce its first OLED iPad Pro range within the next 12 months, gradually transitioning to OLED MacBook Pro models for consumers in the following years. This progression would align with the growing popularity and advancements in foldable technology.
Currently, Asus is the only brand offering a foldable laptop in the market with its ZenBook Fold 17, which comes at a price starting from Rs 3 lakh. However, as the technology evolves and becomes more accessible, it is expected that prices will decrease, providing Apple with an opportunity to showcase its foldable macOS and establish itself as a benchmark for the industry to follow.
