In a new development, customers need not wait 2-3 days for their refund after canceling their train bookings on the IRCTC website or app.
New Changes
If one has made the payment for the booking through IRCTC’s payment gateway IRCTC-ipay, they will receive their refund immediately post cancelation.
IRCTC-ipay launched in 2019 as part of the govt’s Digital India program.
IRCTC has accordingly updated their website.
Passengers Benefit
A spokesperson of the Railways has said that with this initiative, passengers can book Tatkal and regular tickets with greater ease along with cancelation of the same.
The user interface of the IRCTC portal has been updated considering the rise in bookings by passengers.
With the update, customers can be assured of a quicker method to book their tickets.
How To Book
The procedure for booking tickets through IRCTC-ipay-
- Go to the IRCTC website
- Enter travel details
- Pick the train on the related route
- Sign in to the website by entering credentials
- Enter passenger details
- Select IRCTC ipay as mode of payment
- Select Pay and Book
- Input your credit/debit/prepaid card/UPI details
- Post payment, you should receive booking confirmation via SMS or email.
