The month of September was full of car sales boost for companies like Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, and Kia Motors.
While Maruti had a whopping 7 cars in the top 10 sales charts, the newly launched Kia Sonet has gained fame in the compact SUV segment.

Maruti’s Swift, Baleno, Dzire, Eeco WagonR, Ertiga and Alto have the top-selling vehicles by the car manufacturer for quite some time now.
Maruti Suzuki registered a total sale of 1,60,442 units in September of which 2,568 units were supplied to TKM.
As you can see, the top 5 positions in the top 10 sales charts are held by the Indo-Japanese manufacturer. The sales of the vehicles led to a Year-on-Year (YoY) growth of 30.8%.
Compact SUV Segment Becoming Popular!
The compact SUV segment registered a massive growth of 42% in September 2020 as opposed to September 2019.
The popularity of the compact SUV segment can be attributed to the newly-launched Kia Sonet who has quickly become popular and seen a huge sale spike.
With a sale of a total 9,266 units within 12 days of its launch, Kia Sonet became the most sold compact SUV surpassing Maruti, Hyundai, and Tata.
Despite being in a highly competitive segment, it is speculated that the Kia Sonet sales are bound to rise in the coming months.
