New Rules For Domestic Flights: You Will Be Banned Because Of Mask, Foods Will Be Served

The Civil Aviation Ministry has announced new rules for all domestic flights in India, which will be applicable for all flyers.

These new rules have been formulated after due consideration and suggestions from all stakeholders, including the airlines and passenger bodies.

The objective is to safeguard all passengers from coronavirus infection, and to create a safe environment for all passengers, crew members and airport staff.

Here are the main highlights..

Passengers Will Be Banned If They Don’t Wear Mask

As per the new rules for domestic flights, a passenger who refuses to wear mask during a flight will be banned from flying. Such passengers will be put on no-flying list immediately.

This has been confirmed by DGCA.

Arun Kumar, DGCA DG said, “Flyers, who refuse to wear face masks during a flight can be put on the no-fly list,”

Meals Will Be Provided With These Rules

Now, passengers of domestic flights will be able to get meals served on the flight.

However, there are several rules related to it.

Only pre-packed food/meal to be served.

However, all plates, cutleries has to be disposed off, and cannot be reused in any manner. Hence, only plastic cutleries and/or cleaned disinfected rotables will be deployed now.

In case rotables are used, then they will have to be disinfected properly.

In case of tea/coffee, they need to be served via disposable cans/containers/bottles/glasses only.

Crew members who are serving the food/meal/beverages have to wear masks and gloves all the time, and both the masks and gloves have to be changed after every flight and meal/beverage servings.

Incase of in-flight entertainment being provided, the LCD should be wiped clean, after every flight.

Either disposable earphones or disinfected earphones need to be provided to the passengers.

We have already reported that domestic flights have now resumed full-fledged, as around 1000 flights are operating per day.

We will keep you updated, as more details come in.
