95% Employees From TCS, Infosys, Wipro, HCL, Tech M Working From Home; 1 Million+ Employee Not Going To Office!

Of the top 5 Indian IT companies, a massive 95% of employees have continued to work from home despite the rules being relaxed in the last quarter that ended on June 30.

The organizations have had to implement the ‘work from home’ model since the outbreak of the Coronavirus which requires social distancing necessarily. This goes on to show that the incredible advancement of technology has made working remotely quite convenient for us!

95% Of Total Employees At TCS, HCL Tech, Wipro and Tech Mahindra Worked From Home Last Quarter

The leading IT companies of India, Tata Consultancy Services, Infosys, HCL Tech, Wipro and Tech Mahindra have had 95% of the employees working from the safety of their homes in the quarter that ended June 30. The total headcount at these companies is more than 11.38 lakh employees, of which, 95% would make up about 10.81 lakh employees.

TCS is one of India’s largest software exporter, and the company has said that only 1% of their employees have been working from their offices. The total number of employees at TCS at the end of June quarter was 4.45 lakh, of which, 4000 employees were working from their offices across the globe. However, TCS has said that they will be increasing this number to 5% over the next quarter.

In fact, TCS has a Vision 25*25, wherein only 25% of its employees will be asked to cmoe and work from their offices by the year 2025. 

Infosys, HCL, Tech Mahindra’s Employees Working From Home

Infosys has had 95% of its taskforce working from home, where the total headcount stands at 2,39,233. Wipro too has observed that 95% of its total employees of 1,81,804 worked from their homes.

While HCL Tech’s 96% employees of a total of 1,50,287 was working from homes, the CFO of the company believes that working from home long term is not healthy for employees, emotionally or physically.

Tech Mahindra, who recently announced that they will be sending 25-30% of the total workforce to work from home permanently, has had 95% of its employees of 1,23,416 working from home in the quarter that ended June 30th.
