Each has a sharp display with great viewing angles. Honor misses out on a Corning protection here.

The Honor Play comes with Huawei’s flagship Kirin 970 processor clocking at 1.8 GHz coupled with Mali G72 MP12 GPU and an i7 co-processor. While Asus Zenfone 5Z packs in Qualcomm’s flagship processor Snapdragon 845 coupled with Adreno 630 GPU and an LPDDR4X RAM.

Each of the smartphones has a top-end hardware making it handle multiple tasks and hardcore gaming easy on the system.

Software

Both the smartphones run the latest Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box. Even you can expect Android P on Asus Zenfone soon by the end of September, and on Honor by 2018 end. Honor Play runs 8.1 Oreo with EMUI 8.2 on top while Zenfone 5Z runs stock Android backed by AI.

Each of the smartphones run well with their own skins with almost zero lags and performance issues.

Storage

Honor Play comes with 4GB or 6GB of RAM with 64GB of internal storage. It can be further expanded up to 256GB with an external memory card. Asus Zenfone 5Z comes in three options – 6GB of RAM and 64GB storage, 8GB of RAM with 128GB or 256GB storage.

Asus Zenfone 5Z has a lead over the Honor Play here in terms of storage options and variability.

Rear Camera

Both the smartphones offer a rear dual camera system comprising of a 16-megapixel primary f/2.2 camera coupled with a secondary 2-megapixel f/2.4 depth lens. It has PDAF, CAF, and EIS. While Asus Zenfone 5Z has a 12-megapixel primary dual-pixel image sensor coupled with an 8-megapixel secondary depth sensor.
