Xiaomi India has extended the warranty of some phones by two years.
The details surfaced when tipster Debayan Roy spotted it.
News broke on Discord first
It has revealed the news via its Discord handle.
This is a surprise since it hasn’t broken the news in the warranty information pages, official website, or social media channels.
But it is expected to make the announcement on other platforms like Twitter and Instagram in the coming weeks.
The exact reason for the extension of the warranty is currently unknown.
Why?
It is being speculated that Xiaomi might have recognized a fault in some of its phones and hence is offering a free repair.
The company has released the list of phones and the eligibility details for the new extension.
Those using phones which are two years old and have some issues with the camera or motherboard can get it fixed by the company under the new warranty.
List of eligible phones
The following phones are eligible for the 2-year extended warranty support:
- Redmi Note 10
- Redmi Note 10 Pro Max
- Poco X3 Pro
- Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra
Issues covered by the new warranty
Customers who have bought any of the aforementioned models in the last two years will be able to avail the new warranty.
To be specific, those who have faced selfie camera issues and motherboard failures are eligible for the warranty.
The company says that rooted phones, liquid damaged, tampered, or broken cases will not be considered for extended support.
How to avail?

Here they will have to furnish the invoice of the phone.
There will be no charge to pay for any replacement or repairs if the phone’s issues are included in the new two-year warranty.
