Mahindra’s newly launched XUV 7XO has quickly generated massive demand, resulting in substantial waiting periods across its variants. Priced between Rs 13.66 lakh and Rs 24.11 lakh, these are introductory prices applicable only for the first 40,000 customer deliveries. Mahindra began deliveries on 14th January, and customers who booked early are being notified if they qualify for the introductory pricing. With demand soaring, the waiting periods for the XUV 7XO have now been revealed, offering a clearer picture for prospective buyers.

Mahindra’s XUV 7XO Sees Months-Long Delays Amid Overwhelming Bookings
The XUV 7XO, much like its predecessor the XUV700, has received overwhelming interest. While Mahindra has not disclosed standalone booking numbers for the 7XO, it recently announced combined bookings of 93,689 units for the XUV 7XO and XEV 9S, amounting to more than Rs 20,500 crore in value.
Unsurprisingly, this demand has translated into lengthy delivery timelines. According to dealer reports, the entry-level AX variant has the highest waiting period—up to 12 months for both petrol and diesel. This extended delay is likely driven by strong demand, especially since the base variant offers a rich feature package, including Coast-to-Coast triple 12.3-inch HD screens, Adrenox connectivity, smartwatch sync, Alexa with ChatGPT, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Type-C ports, and electrically adjustable ORVMs.
The AX3 and AX5 variants each carry a waiting period of around 5 months. Over the base features, the AX3 adds conveniences such as a rear-view camera with dynamic guidelines, electrically foldable ORVMs, a rear wiper, wash function, and a rear demister. The AX5 enhances this further with a skyroof, front parking sensors, telescopic steering, R17 Versa wheels, map reading lamps, improved sun visors, and approach unlock with walk-away lock functionality.
Premium XUV 7XO Trims Get Shorter Wait Times, AX7T Leads with Quick Delivery
Higher up the line-up, the AX7 variant has a shorter waiting period—4 weeks for petrol and 6 weeks for diesel. It adds premium features such as R18 diamond-cut alloys, leatherette seats, BYOD support, 540° surround view, blind view monitor, DVR, and dual-zone climate control. For the fastest delivery, buyers should choose the AX7T, which has a waiting period of up to just 4 weeks, including AWD options. This variant includes Level 2 ADAS, a 16-speaker Harman Kardon system, Dolby Atmos, ventilated seats, drowsiness detection, wireless charging, and an electronic parking brake. The top-spec AX7L variant has a waiting period of 4 months for petrol AT and 6 months for other versions, offering R19 alloys, leatherette trim, multi-zone ambient lighting, Dolby Vision, ventilated rear seats, rear wireless charger with cooling, and a powered co-driver seat.
Summary:
Mahindra’s XUV 7XO has received overwhelming demand, causing long waiting periods across variants. The base AX variant faces a 12-month delay, AX3 and AX5 about 5 months, while premium AX7 and AX7T offer faster 4–6 week delivery. High-end AX7L variants require 4–6 months due to strong bookings and feature-rich offerings.
