Vivo has officially unveiled its latest premium foldable smartphone, the Vivo X Fold 6, in China. The new device arrives with significant upgrades across battery life, camera performance, durability, and productivity features, making it one of the most ambitious foldable smartphones launched this year. With a large 7,000mAh battery, a flagship-grade camera system, and a customised MediaTek chipset, the Vivo X Fold 6 aims to compete directly with the best foldable devices in the market.

Premium Foldable Design and Displays

The Vivo X Fold 6 features a large 8.02-inch foldable LTPO AMOLED inner display with a 120Hz refresh rate, complemented by a 6.51-inch outer display that also supports a 120Hz refresh rate. Both screens are designed to deliver smooth visuals, vibrant colours, and improved outdoor visibility.

The smartphone comes with enhanced durability features, including IPX8 and IPX9 water-resistance ratings, making it one of the more rugged foldable devices available. Vivo has also focused on maintaining a slim profile despite packing a significantly larger battery than its predecessor.

Powered by a Custom MediaTek Chip

One of the biggest highlights of the Vivo X Fold 6 is its processor. The foldable is the first smartphone to feature the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 Super Edition chipset, a customised version developed jointly by Vivo and MediaTek. The chip is designed to improve AI performance, multitasking, gaming, and power efficiency.

The device runs OriginOS 6 Fold and introduces an upgraded Atomic Workbench interface that enhances productivity through advanced multitasking capabilities. Users can run multiple apps simultaneously and switch between tasks more efficiently on the large foldable display.

Flagship Camera System

Photography is another area where Vivo is making a strong statement. The X Fold 6 features a ZEISS-branded camera setup led by a 200MP primary sensor. Supporting it are a 50MP ultra-wide camera and a 50MP periscope telephoto lens capable of delivering high-quality zoom photography.

The camera system also includes advanced AI imaging capabilities, enhanced portrait photography, and support for long-range zoom. Vivo has continued its partnership with ZEISS to deliver a premium imaging experience comparable to flagship non-foldable smartphones.

Massive Battery and Fast Charging

Battery life has often been a challenge for foldable smartphones, but Vivo appears determined to address that concern. The X Fold 6 packs a massive 7,000mAh battery, one of the largest ever seen in a foldable device.

The smartphone supports 80W wired fast charging and 40W wireless charging, enabling users to quickly recharge the device despite its large battery capacity. Vivo claims the upgraded battery technology also improves longevity and efficiency.

Pricing and Availability

The Vivo X Fold 6 has launched in China with a starting price of CNY 9,999 (approximately ₹1.4 lakh) for the base 12GB RAM and 256GB storage variant. Multiple storage configurations are expected to be available. While Vivo has not yet announced an India launch date, industry observers expect the foldable to reach additional markets in the coming months.

Summary

Vivo has launched the X Fold 6, a premium foldable smartphone featuring an 8.02-inch foldable display, a custom MediaTek Dimensity 9500 Super Edition chipset, a 200MP ZEISS camera, and a massive 7,000mAh battery. With 80W fast charging, advanced AI-powered productivity tools, and a starting price of around ₹1.4 lakh, the device is positioned as one of the most powerful foldables of 2026.
