Additionally, they have a say in how in-app deals, discounts, and promotions are created. It is now optional to use Apple’s templates for creating links to transactional websites.

Developers can distribute programs straight from their websites if they meet certain requirements.

One of the requirements for web distribution is having participated in the Apple Developer Program for a minimum of two years in a row.

Additionally, developers must have an iOS app that had over a million first installs in the EU the year before. Apps downloaded from websites have to comply with Apple’s notarization specifications.

Only web domains that have been registered with App Store Connect may be used to install them. Developers who have been granted authorization will have access to APIs for app distribution and system feature integration.

Updates Will Offer Backup and Restoration Capabilities

Among other things, they will offer backup and restoration capabilities. Apps can now be distributed online after a software update that happens later in the spring. This will make it possible for iOS users to download apps straight from websites.

These adjustments are a component of Apple’s strategy for adhering to the Digital Markets Act (DMA). Additionally, these are exclusive to the European Union. The modifications are intended to provide EU developers greater freedom.

Additionally, they want to encourage innovation and competition within the app industry. Apple keeps improving its procedures and policies to conform to EU laws. Apple’s continued dedication to helping users and developers in the EU market is reflected in the updates.
