Tata Technologies (TTL), a global product engineering and digital services company, has announced the acquisition of ES-Tec Group, a Wolfsburg-based premium automotive engineering services provider, for €75 million. The deal, expected to be EPS accretive from the first year of operations, significantly boosts TTL’s global engineering footprint.

Accelerating ER&D Growth

The acquisition strengthens TTL’s Engineering Research and Development (ER&D) capabilities, particularly in high-growth domains such as Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), Connected Driving, and Digital Engineering. These areas align with the R&D priorities of leading global automotive OEMs, enabling TTL to become a strategic partner for next-generation mobility solutions.

Strengthening European Presence

Germany, home to some of the world’s most advanced automotive innovations, serves as a key market for automotive research. ES-Tec’s established leadership in systems engineering provides Tata Technologies with a strong presence in Europe, enhancing access to global OEMs and creating a platform to scale operations in one of the largest automotive hubs.

Expanding Talent & Synergies

With a team of 300+ engineers, ES-Tec adds deep expertise in embedded systems, electronics, and systems engineering to TTL’s portfolio. The acquisition opens avenues for commercial synergies, including cross-selling opportunities and broader access to OEM accounts, helping Tata Technologies accelerate growth across its customer base.

Strategic Leap for the Future

As the automotive industry shifts toward electrification, ADAS, and software-defined vehicles, Engineering Service Providers (ESPs) in Europe are poised for rapid growth—from €4.5 billion in 2020 to €11.7 billion by 2030. This acquisition positions Tata Technologies at the forefront of this transformation, equipping it with the expertise and market presence needed to deliver end-to-end mobility solutions.

Warren Harris, MD & CEO of Tata Technologies, said the deal reinforces TTL’s vision to be the partner of choice for global OEMs navigating the shift toward intelligent, connected, and sustainable mobility.
