While reviving its iconic name, Tata Motors Passenger Vehicle has recently launched the Sierra SUV in the Indian market.

The vehicle maker has introduced this SUV at a starting price of Rs 11.49 lakh (ex-showroom) and the model is getting significant attention on public forums.

It appears that the Indian automaker has been performing various tests with the vehicle in order to make it even more of an attention-grabbing machine.
In one such incident, the SUV achieved a record fuel efficiency of 29.9 kmpl at NATRAX Indore as per the latest announcement.
They have performed these tests in a controlled environment during a 12-hour run, which has also achieved a place in the India Book of Records.
Although, this does not represent the real-world mileage of the SUV and the unit used during the test had the automaker’s new 1.5-litre Hyperion petrol engine.
They have paired this unit with an AT and it is further tuned to produce 160 hp of power and 255 Nm of torque at the peak of its performance.
Prior to this, the brand has used the same engine to register a top speed of 222 kmph for the Sierra under controlled conditions.
Powertrain, Luxurious Cabin & Much More
Apart from the Hyperion, this SUV comes with the options of a 1.5-litre NA petrol engine producing 106 hp and 145 Nm (which uses an Atkinson cycle for efficiency) coupled with either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic.
They are also offering a diesel variant of the Sierra with a 118 hp 1.5-litre engine, offering both 6-speed manual (260Nm) and 6-speed automatic (280Nm) options.
The Tata Sierra sports a luxurious cabin featuring three dashboard card displays including one for the driver and two for infotainment further allowing smooth content sharing.
Moving ahead, the modal retains the four-spoke steering wheel from the Tata Curvv.
This model is equipped with an illuminated Tata logo and touch-sensitive controls, along with a 12-speaker JBL audio system, the segment’s inaugural SonicShaft soundbar, dual-zone climate control, the largest panoramic sunroof available in India, a wireless charging pad, rear window sunshades, ventilated and electric front seats, among other amenities.
The Tata Sierra’s Level 2 ADAS package includes an electronic parking brake, a 360-degree view camera, dual blind spot detection, and ESP that offers 21 functions, alongside numerous additional features concerning the safety.
It also has the standard safety essentials including six airbags, seatbelt anchor pretensioners, Isofix attachments for child safety, and three-point ELR seat belts for all passengers, among other safety measures.
