Who Is Eligible?

Only private individual owners of the 45 kWh Nexon EV are eligible for the unlimited battery warranty. Company-registered vehicles or vehicles transferred under corporate perk schemes are not covered under this benefit.

Tata also extends similar warranty terms to the upcoming Tata Curvv EV, though in this case, too, second owners will only receive standard coverage if the transfer is properly communicated.

Key Terms and Conditions

To retain the unlimited warranty, owners must comply with these key conditions:

  • The EV must be serviced exclusively at authorised TATA.ev service stations as per Tata’s recommended schedule.
  • The IRA.ev connected services must remain active and uninterrupted throughout the ownership.
  • The vehicle must be privately registered and not used under any company perk car scheme.
  • The battery should be free of physical damage or tampering.
  • In the event of battery replacement during the warranty, Tata will ensure the battery retains at least 80 percent State of Health (SOH) or matches the pre-replacement level.

What About Other Tata EVs?

The Harrier EV was the first model to get an unlimited battery warranty. However, for Harrier EV, second owners are eligible for a slightly better coverage of 10 years or 2 lakh kilometres, compared to 8 years or 1.6 lakh km for Nexon EV and Curvv EV.

Conclusion

Tata’s new unlimited battery warranty for Nexon EV 45 kWh reinforces its commitment to long-term EV ownership. Buyers must ensure they meet all the warranty conditions and notify Tata during resale to avoid losing the coverage. For more clarity, visiting your nearest dealership is recommended.
