Sitting in a very comfortable space but yet vying for more portion of the pie, Tata is now rolling up its sleeves to give final touches to 2 of its much anticipated cars which are slated to launch in next couple of months:
- Tata Nexon iCNG – An already versatile car, Nexon, which already comes with a number of powertrain options and is available in – Petrol, Diesel and Electric.
Tata is now planning to expand this further and will be introducing the iCNG variant of the Nexon pretty soon. The same was showcased early this year at the Bharat Mobility Expo which happened earlier in the year. Not just that, it will be the first car in India to utilize the turbo petrol engine integrated with CNG technology.
The twin-cylinder setup which was introduced in the Altroz and Punch, shall be incorporated in this one.
With a practical boot space of 230 litres, Tata shall be using the same format as the Nexon CNG.
It is by the arrangement of dual cylinders that this arrangement is made possible.
The cylinders are integrated neatly and hidden from view while the spare wheel is available under the body.
Excellent safety features like thermal incident protection and leak detection capabilities are used in the system which in turn ensure optimal safety and reliability.
A 1.2L three-cylinder turbo petrol engine, which typically generates 120 PS and 170 Nm of torque shall be utilized in the Nexon CNG.
Coupled with a 5-speed manual transmission, there’s a possibility of an AMT option as well.
- Tata Curvv EV – First displayed at the Bharat Mobility Show in the 2024, the car has been spotted multiple times while testing.
A very recent development in the same space has been the confirmation about the EV version of the SUV coupe which shall debut soon. Though the specifications of the battery pack and motor of the coupe SUV are still unknown, what is expected is that the range shall go up to 500 km.
The car comes with list of features that include a 12.3-inch floating touchscreen system, ventilated front seats, a sunroof, and a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display.
Expected to arrive with some advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) features such as lane keep assist and adaptive cruise control, the car shall also feature other standard safety features like six airbags, a 360-degree camera, front and rear parking sensors, and electronic stability control (ESC).
