While making a significant debut within the generative AI category, OnePlus has introduced an AI Eraser in its existing list of services recently.
The latest tool by the Chinese smartphone maker christened AI Eraser, will be powered by its proprietary large language model.
Besides this, the smartphone maker has promised a more elaborate AI suite in the near future.
Till then, let’s go through the details we have gathered regarding this announcement.
What Is The Use Of OnePlus AI Eraser ?
With the help of the OnePlus AI Eraser, the users can highlight a portion of an image.
They can also erase or remove it completely from the final photo.
This simply means that if you had unwanted pedestrians in your Eiffel Tower photo, this tool will definitely help you in removing the same.
It seems really powerful as it has the ability to give you that Instagram-worthy shot that you were aiming for.
When it comes to its working, this tool essentially works by adding a background to your photo to replace the selected area.
But, the patch generated by this feature is said to seamlessly blend with the rest of your photo.
Hence, ensuring that the change doesn’t compromise on the original style and look.
While talking about this ability, OnePlus said that this proprietary large language model was trained on a vast dataset and works especially fast on complex scenes.
Besides this, the company is also of the opinion that its visual intelligence lets the AI Eraser fill in the gaps by fitting in replacements instead of simply detracting them from the photo quality.
OnePlus AI Eraser Launch & Availability
The feature seems pretty good and it’s no wonder that the users would want a hands on the same.
For those, this is slated to roll out sometime in mid-April.
But, be aware that it will only be available to a select few OnePlus smartphones.
The tool is expected to roll out for OnePlus 12, OnePlus12R, OnePlus 11, the OnePlus Open, and Nord CE 4.
So far, it is unclear whether this addition will appear as an update or show up within the photos app.
But with this announcement, OnePlus pits against several competitors including the popular names including Samsung and Google.
