The Judicial First Class Magistrate Court – II in Palakkad has taken strict action against Yoga guru Baba Ramdev, his aide Acharya Balkrishna, and Divya Pharmacy, the marketing arm of Patanjali Ayurved. The court issued a non-bailable arrest warrant after they failed to appear in a misleading advertisements case filed in October 2024.

Case Details and Previous Warnings
The case, filed under the Drugs and Magic Remedies (Objectionable Advertisements) Act, 1954, accuses Patanjali Ayurved of falsely claiming that its products can cure high blood pressure and diabetes. The court had initially issued a summons for January 16, followed by a bailable warrant for February 1. Their repeated absence led to the issuance of a non-bailable warrant.
Multiple Cases Across India
Patanjali Ayurved is facing similar legal challenges in Kozhikode and Haridwar, where multiple summons have been issued. Authorities from the drugs department revealed that 12 cases have been registered against Baba Ramdev and his associates in Kerala alone, highlighting growing concerns over misleading medical advertisements.
Next Hearing on February 15
With the next court hearing set for February 15, legal proceedings against Baba Ramdev and Patanjali Ayurved are intensifying. Authorities are expected to take further action if the accused continue to ignore court orders.
