NEET 2024 Cutoff Announced For SC, OBC, ST & General Category

Along with the qualifying percentile, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced the NEET 2024 cutoff marks.

This holds a great significance as it also represents the minimum mark a candidate requires to qualify for the medical entrance test is the NEET cut-off score.

NEET 2024 Cutoff

For starters, the NEET 2024 cutoff for the general category is 720-164, for SC/ST/OBC category, the cutoff is 163-129, for the general- PH category it is 163-146 and for the SC/OBC- PH it is 145-129, and for ST PH it is 141-129, as per the announcement.

This also helps candidates as with the help of NEET college predictor on the basis of marks, the candidates can predict their chances of admission.

Besides this, the NEET 2024 expected cutoff will be released by the popular NEET coaching institutes such as Aakash, Allen Kota, Sri Chaitanya etc.

Usually, the NEET cut-off is divided into two categories including admission cut-off, and qualifying cut-off, in the NEET exam.

Here the NEET qualifying score is the minimum mark a candidate must obtain to pass the exam.

Similarly, the NEET 2024 admission cut-off is the last rank at which admission will be granted to an applicant.

It is noteworthy here that all the medical colleges accepting NEET 2024 scores will be granting admission based on this cutoff.

In yesterday’s release, the state-wise NEET 2024 cut-off for government colleges, as well as, private colleges was released by the state-competent authority.

Further, the admission will be granted to over 1 lakh MBBS, 27,868 BDS, 52,720 AYUSH, 603 BVSc, and AH seats, as well as 1205 AIIMS MBBS and 200 JIPMER MBBS seats in 15 AIIMS and 2 JIPMER institutes as the results in the NEET exam.

So the information like category-wise expected cutoff of 2024, minimum qualifying percentile, cutoff ranks, tie-breaking method, and other details can be checked by the candidates here.

What Are The NEET Cutoff 2024?

This year, over 24 lakh candidates appeared for the NEET 2024 exam.

If you are wondering about the level of the NEET question paper, it was easy to moderate.

It won’t be an exaggeration to say that regarding these two factors, the NEET cutoff 2024 is within the same range as of 2023.

Let’s go through the NEET 2024 cutoff from the below table.

NEET cutoff 2024

State Having lowest Cut-off in NEET

As we know, the lowest cut-off for the NEET UG exam varies every year depending on various factors.

That is why, the state with the lowest cut-off in NEET may vary each year.

It is also noteworthy here that the NEET admission to medical colleges is done based on the All India Rank (AIR) obtained by the candidates, through AIQ or state-wise counseling.

The  NEET cut-off for MBBS government college analysis, the Pt. Bhagwat Dayal Sharma Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences, Rohtak had the lowest cutoff, the NEET closing rank of the past year for this college was 7932, as per the data from last year.

What Is The Cut-off In NEET for MBBS?

Again, the answer for this question varies every year as the NEET cutoff marks are dependent on various factors such as the difficulty level of the exam, the number of candidates who appeared for the exam, and the availability of seats in various medical colleges.

It is self explanatory here that to clear the NEET exam, candidates are required to obtain a minimum NEET qualifying score.

If we consider the previous year, the qualifying score for NEET was 117 out of 720 for unreserved category candidates and 116 for reserved category candidates.

The candidates must note here that merely obtaining the NEET minimum qualifying score does not guarantee admission into medical colleges.

How Does NEET Cutoff 2024 Help?

With the NEET cut-off, the admission to the following UG medical seats is considered.

  • 15% All India Quota (AIQ) seats
  • 85% State Quota seats
  • Deemed and Central universities
  • ESIC and AFMS
  • Private institutes
  • AIIMS institutes
  • JIPMER colleges
