In November, the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) in Mumbai recorded its highest-ever passenger traffic, reaching 4.46 million, along with peak flight operations and passenger movements, as reported by officials on Monday. This figure indicates a notable 13 percent surge compared to the passenger count in November 2022, which stood at 3.90 million. The month also experienced a total of 28,679 air traffic movements (ATMs), encompassing over 7,000 international flights, signifying a 12 percent growth compared to the same period in 2022 when there were 25,375 flights.

CSMIA’s November Travel Hotspots: Leading Domestic Destinations and Popular International Choices

In terms of passenger preferences, CSMIA’s top domestic destinations in November remained New Delhi, Bengaluru, and Chennai, while internationally, Dubai, London, and Abu Dhabi were the most favored. The route between Mumbai and New Delhi saw a substantial traffic volume, accommodating 557,393 passengers last month.

CSMIA’s November Market Dynamics: Leading Domestic Carriers, Global Players, and Milestone Accomplishments

Examining market share, domestic carriers IndiGo, Vistara, and Air India took the lead, with IndiGo serving over 1.60 million passengers in November 2023. In the international segment, IndiGo, Air India, and Emirates emerged as the prominent players. CSMIA expanded its reach by introducing new destinations such as Entebbe (Uganda), Baku (Azerbaijan), Bangkok, and Toronto.

November marked significant achievements for CSMIA, including setting a new record for the highest single-day flight operations with 1,032 ATMs on November 11 and handling an impressive 167,132 passengers on a single day on November 25.
