MG To Launch Comet EV By April

The MG Comet has been a topic of discussion for the automaker for a while.Up until this point, MG has only released the Comet EV’s images and confirmed its name. MG has yet to formally disclose the Comet’s final specifications and, of course, its launch date, despite the fact that the vehicle is identical to the Wuling Air EV. The EV might, however, debut in the second half of April.

Although the company hasn’t yet provided information about the MG Comet’s technical details and features, there are a few things we do know.

The MG Comet will come with three doors. It is essentially a Wuling Air EV that has been rebadged and sold in Indonesia. The wheels will be 13 inches.

MG Comet EV: Specifications and Features

The electric vehicle will have amenities like a 10.25-inch infotainment system and a 10.25-inch digital instrument panel inside the cabin. Additionally, there will be connected car technology.

As per reports, a 25kWh battery and a 50kW motor may be installed in the MG Comet. On a single full charge, its range will be close to 250 km.

The MG Comet will compete with vehicles like the Citroen e-C3 and Tata Tiago.ev. The Citroen e-C3 is priced between Rs. 11.50 lakh and Rs. 12.43 lakh, while the Tata Tiago.ev is priced between Rs. 8.69 lakh and Rs. 11.99 lakh (ex-showroom) (ex-showroom).

The Comet will follow the Astor, the recently unveiled Hector 2023, Gloster, and ZS EV as MG’s fifth model in India.

MG Motor To Update Battery Thermal Management System

The engineering team at MG will update its battery thermal management system and air conditioning to accommodate Indian driving conditions. The upcoming MG electric vehicle could be given a different name. It has a boxy stance and features a large touchscreen infotainment system, a digital instrument console, wireless connectivity, connected car technology, and more.

The China-spec Wuling Air EV has two electric motor options: 30kW (40bhp) and 50kW (67bhp), with ranges of 200km and 300km, respectively. Both are mated to a single-speed automatic transmission. The battery pack for the India-spec version will be supplied by Tata AutoComp.
