The MG Majestor is scheduled to launch on February 12, 2026, and will serve as MG’s flagship full-size SUV.

The Majestor was first displayed at Auto Expo 2025 and has been spotted undergoing road testing in India for a long time.

MG Majestor Will Challenge Fortuner, Jeep In India: Launch On This Date

MG Majestor Set for February 2026 Launch as Flagship SUV

The SUV takes strong design inspiration from the Maxus D90, which is sold in international markets such as China and Saudi Arabia.

It is expected to use the same 2-litre twin-turbo diesel engine found in the MG Gloster, producing 216hp.

The exterior styling is aggressive, featuring a large grille and twin exhaust outlets.

The front design includes a massive gloss-black grille that enhances its bold appearance.

Vertically stacked LED headlights sit beside the grille, while slim eyebrow-shaped LED DRLs are positioned above them.

The lower front bumper has rugged black cladding with silver accents in the center, giving the SUV a tough, off-road-ready look.

Body cladding continues around the wheel arches and along the lower side profile.

The Majestor rides on dual-tone 19-inch alloy wheels similar to those seen on the Gloster.

Additional exterior elements include black door handles, black roof rails, connected LED tail-lights, a black rear bumper with a faux silver skid plate, and exhaust tips on both sides.

Spy Shots Reveal Maxus D90-Inspired Interior for MG Majestor

The interior was not officially shown at Auto Expo, but spy images from a test vehicle indicate a cabin design similar to the Maxus D90.

Based on this, the India-spec Majestor is expected to feature a 12.3-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system.

It is also likely to include a similarly sized digital instrument cluster for the driver.

A three-spoke steering wheel with a column-mounted drive selector stalk is expected inside the cabin.

Since the Majestor will be positioned above the Gloster, it is anticipated to offer more features than the current three-row SUV.

For reference, the Gloster already offers a panoramic sunroof, three-zone automatic climate control, wireless phone charging, a 12-speaker sound system, a powered tailgate, and heated and powered front seats.

The Gloster also includes a massage function for the driver’s seat, which hints at the level of comfort expected in the Majestor.

The Majestor is likely to be powered by the same 2-litre twin-turbo diesel engine producing 216hp and 479Nm of torque.

In the Gloster, this engine is paired with an 8-speed torque-converter automatic transmission that delivers power to all four wheels through a 4WD system.

The Majestor is expected to use the same engine and transmission setup.

In the China-spec Maxus D90, this engine delivers the same power output but a higher torque figure of 500Nm.

The Majestor is expected to be priced higher than the Gloster.

The Gloster’s current price in India ranges between Rs 38.33 lakh and Rs 42.49 lakh (ex-showroom).

In the market, the MG Majestor will compete against the Toyota Fortuner, Jeep Meridian, and Skoda Kodiaq.
