Maruti Suzuki’s Upcoming SUV Crash Tested

By concentrating on producing safer vehicles, Maruti Suzuki hopes to reclaim a 50% market share in the Indian auto industry.

The new-generation Dzire, which received a 5-star Global NCAP rating, is one of the brand’s recent safety initiatives.

Additionally, they installed three-point seatbelts for every passenger in the Brezza and six airbags in the Celerio.

Expectations for a possible 5-star safety rating are raised by the e Vitara crash test footage, which shows a stable chassis and body shell in front and side impact tests.

eVitara’s Safety Features

The 2025 Auto Expo featured the e Vitara, which has a number of cutting-edge safety features, such as:

  • ADAS
  • Seven airbags (including a knee airbag)
  • ABS with EBD
  • Adaptive cruise control
  • Disc brakes on all wheels
  • Tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS)
  • Electronic stability program (ESP)
  • 360-degree surround view camera
  • Front and rear parking sensors

Although the precise date has not yet been confirmed, Maruti Suzuki intends to introduce the e Vitara electric SUV in March 2025.

There will be two battery pack options for the e Vitara: 49kWh and 61kWh. The latter is anticipated to have a range of more than 550km.

Ex-showroom, the e Vitara is anticipated to cost between Rs. 20 lakh and Rs. 30 lakh.

The Hyundai Creta Electric, MG ZS EV, Tata Curvv, and Mahindra BE 6 are among the C-segment electric SUVs that the e Vitara will face off against when it launches.

Sales of the e Vitara are anticipated to start in March after Maruti Suzuki unveiled it at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Global Expo.

Following Maruti Suzuki’s customary naming scheme, this midsize electric SUV will be offered in three variants: Delta, Zeta, and Alpha. It is built on the e-Heartect platform.

More than 50% of the e Vitara’s body is made of high-tensile steel, guaranteeing its strength and rigidity. Its short overhangs and 2,700 mm wheelbase give it a balanced stance and a 5.2-meter turning radius, which enhances maneuverability in crowded areas.
