Maruti eVX: Styling and Features

The Maruti eVX showcases a sporty and modern design, featuring an X-shaped front fascia that immediately catches the eye. The dual LED DRLs, which frame the projector headlamps, add to its futuristic look. The rear lights mirror this design philosophy, enhancing the vehicle’s sleek profile. The curvy body panels contribute to the eVX’s aerodynamic efficiency, which is expected to improve its overall range.

Side Profile and Exterior Design

From the side, the eVX is characterized by polygonal wheel arches and ORVMs with integrated turn signals. The front doors feature conventional handles, while the rear handles are subtly mounted on the C-pillar for a cleaner look. The vehicle also sports blacked-out pillars, enhancing its sporty aesthetic. The alloy wheels are designed to be particularly eye-catching. At the back, the eVX includes a roof-mounted spoiler, a washer and wiper, and a prominent bumper. The outline of the tailgate suggests ample boot space, a practical feature for everyday use.

Interiors and Safety Features

Inside, the Maruti eVX promises a range of high-end features. Built on a born-electric platform, it is expected to include several best-in-class and segment-first amenities. The test mules reveal a large touchscreen infotainment system, a flat-bottom steering wheel, and an expansive center console. The seats appear to be premium, likely covered in leatherette material, with soft-touch materials used throughout the cabin for an upscale feel.

To meet consumer expectations, the eVX will offer a wireless charger, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, ventilated seats, a premium sound system, automatic climate control, and rear AC vents. Safety features will be comprehensive, including front and rear parking sensors, a 360° surround view monitor, blind spot monitoring, and a tyre pressure monitoring system. Advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) based on radar and camera technology are also expected.

Performance and Range

Estimates suggest that the Maruti eVX will be powered by a 60-kWh battery pack, capable of delivering a range of around 500 km. To cater to a diverse market, the eVX will be available in both single-motor front-wheel drive (FWD) and dual-motor all-wheel drive (AWD) configurations. Competitors include the MG ZS EV, which has a 50.3 kWh battery pack and a range of 461 km, and the upcoming Creta EV and Tata Curvv EV, which are expected to offer similar ranges.

Launch and Market Expectations

The Maruti eVX is slated to debut in 2025. Maruti Suzuki is likely to price it competitively to capture a significant market share. It remains to be seen whether consumers will place their trust in Maruti’s first fully electric vehicle, but the initial signs are promising.
