Maruti Suzuki India has quietly updated the Ertiga MPV with several new features, making subtle enhancements aimed at improving passenger convenience and overall appeal. Interestingly, these updates have been rolled out silently, without any formal announcement, and are instead listed in the latest product brochure. Coming just ahead of the festive season, when automakers anticipate stronger demand, the updates are expected to further boost the Ertiga’s popularity, which is already among the best-selling MPVs in the country. Importantly, while the features list has been refreshed, the vehicle’s mechanical specifications remain unchanged.

Feature-Rich Ertiga Retains Same Engine, Starts at ₹8.96 Lakh

One of the key changes is the redesigned rear roof spoiler, which now carries a sharper, more pronounced look with stylish black inserts on both side curves. This redesigned spoiler has been made standard across all variants, signalling a design improvement accessible to every buyer. While it had been noticed earlier on some customer vehicles, Maruti has only now formalized it as part of the official update. Another significant modification involves the air-conditioning system. The second-row AC vents have been shifted from the roof to a position behind the center console, while the third row gains dedicated vents with independent blower speed control, enhancing cooling efficiency for rear passengers.

Additionally, Maruti has modernized in-cabin connectivity by adding Type-C USB charging ports. Passengers in both the second and third rows now benefit from two ports each, ensuring ample options to charge multiple devices simultaneously—an increasingly important convenience for today’s tech-driven users. Despite these changes, the Ertiga continues to be powered by the same 1.5-litre petrol engine producing 102 bhp and 136.8 Nm, paired with either a five-speed manual or six-speed automatic gearbox. A CNG option, delivering 87 bhp and 121.5 Nm with a manual transmission, also remains available. Prices continue to start at ₹8.96 lakh (ex-showroom).

Summary:

Maruti Suzuki has updated the Ertiga MPV with a redesigned spoiler, improved AC vents, and new Type-C USB ports, enhancing passenger comfort and convenience. The upgrades arrive before the festive season to boost sales. Mechanicals remain unchanged, with petrol and CNG options, and prices starting at ₹8.96 lakh (ex-showroom).
