Mahindra is rigorously testing its upcoming electric vehicle (EV), the XUV.e9, ahead of its scheduled market debut in early 2025. As part of Mahindra’s aggressive EV strategy, the XUV.e9 follows the XUV700-based XUV.e8, which is set to launch later this year. The XUV.e9, spotted in a production-ready form, is expected to boast an array of advanced features and a modern design.
Interior Features
Three-Screen Dashboard Setup
One of the standout features of the XUV.e9 is its sophisticated three-screen setup on the dashboard. This innovative design promises to enhance the driver and passenger experience with advanced infotainment and control options.
Steering Wheel and Climate Control
The vehicle will feature a new two-spoke multifunction flat-bottom steering wheel, offering a contemporary look and feel. Additionally, the XUV.e9 will come equipped with dual-zone climate control, ensuring optimal comfort for all passengers.
Drive Modes and Gear Lever
A rotary dial for selecting drive modes and a new gear lever design will be part of the vehicle’s interior enhancements. These features are aimed at providing a seamless driving experience.
Auto-Dimming IRVM
The inclusion of an auto-dimming interior rearview mirror (IRVM) adds to the convenience and safety features of the XUV.e9, reducing glare from headlights of vehicles behind.
Exterior Features
Bumper and Lighting Design
Externally, the XUV.e9 will sport new front and rear bumpers, along with vertically stacked headlamps and L-shaped LED daytime running lights (DRLs). An LED light bar at both the front and rear will add to its modern aesthetic.
Panoramic Sunroof and Door Handles
The vehicle will also feature a panoramic sunroof, providing an open and airy feel to the cabin. The C-pillar-mounted rear door handles will add a unique touch to its exterior design.
Alloy Wheels
Newly designed alloy wheels will enhance the XUV.e9’s overall appearance, giving it a sleek and stylish look.
Expected Specifications
Mahindra has not yet disclosed the technical specifications for the XUV.e9 or its other upcoming EVs. However, it is anticipated that the XUV.e9 will be equipped with a 60-80kWh battery pack paired with a single electric motor. This setup is expected to deliver an impressive range of 500 kilometers on a single full charge, making it a competitive option in the EV market.
Pricing and Market Position
The Mahindra XUV.e9 is expected to be priced between Rs. 50.00 to 52.00 lakh, positioning it as a premium offering in the electric SUV segment. This pricing reflects its advanced features and the anticipated high performance of its electric drivetrain.
