Apple To Develop Touchscreen Macs; To Be Introduced in 2025
The tech behemoth Apple is purportedly developing touchscreen Macs, and its first touchscreen OLED MacBook Pro is anticipated in 2025.
The engineers of the tech giant are reportedly “actively engaged in the project,” according to Mark Gurman of Bloomberg, indicating that the company is “seriously considering” making touchscreen Macs, according to MacRumors.
It’s likely that the first touchscreen MacBook Pro will have a conventional laptop design with a trackpad and a keyboard.
On the other hand, it’s anticipated that the display will support touch input similar to an iPad or iPhone.
Given that the iPhone manufacturer is not actively working to combine iPadOS and macOS, it is likely to use macOS.
According to the report, if Apple moves forward with these plans, it would mark a significant shift in the company’s philosophy because it has historically rejected the idea of a touchscreen Mac.
The tech giant may release its new MacBook with an OLED display before the end of next year, according to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who made the announcement on Wednesday.
OLED screens have the benefit of being more streamlined, lighter, and capable of more varied form factors, such as folding, so the iPhone maker reportedly planned to release a laptop with one.
Apple Developing Low Cost AirPods, “AirPods Lite”
Apple is developing new, more affordable AirPods to compete with less expensive wireless earbuds. In order to compete with less expensive wireless earbuds on the market, the tech giant is reportedly working on an “AirPods Lite” version.
Analyst Jeff Pu from Haitong International Securities predicts a decline in AirPod demand by 2023. Furthermore, he claims that it is anticipated that shipments of AirPods will decline from 73 million units in 2022 to 63 million in 2023.
The demand for “soft AirPods 3” and the potential that Apple won’t release any new AirPods this year are likely the two main causes of this.
