After a 2-year long hiatus, Kia is all set to take the auto world by storm with its new model offerings in October: the new-generation Kia Carnival and the all-electric Kia EV9 SUV.
Kia Reintroduces Updated Carnival in India on October 3 with New Design and Advanced Features
Slated to release on October 3, these models mark Kia’s return to the spotlight following the introduction of the EV6 in 2022.
It will be as a completely-knocked-down (CKD) kit that the updated Kia Carnival shall make its comeback and shall replace the previous-generation model that was phased out in 2023 due to BS6 Phase II emission norms.
The facelifted Carnival features a more upright design, with a revised grille, new vertical headlights, and a fresh bumper design.
Speaking internationally, it includes advanced features like two 12.3-inch screens, a head-up display, a 14.6-inch rear entertainment screen, eight airbags, and ADAS.
Price between Rs 40 lakh and potentially reaching Rs 50 lakh for the top model, the the new Carnival will likely continue with a 2.2-litre diesel engine in India.

Measuring over 5m in length and with a 3.1 m wheelbase, it surpasses the Kia Telluride in size. Internationally, the model comes with 2 battery options:
- 76.1 kWh for the Standard model
- 99.8 kWh for the Long Range version
The Long Range EV9 features up to 380 bhp and 600 Nm of torque, with a 0-100 kmph time of 6 seconds, dropping to 5.3 seconds with a software update.
Speaking of range, the car is expected to exceed 540 km on the WLTP cycle. In India, the fully-equipped Long Range model is anticipated to exceed Rs 1 crore due to import duties.
