Kia India has announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) to significantly expand its public electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure across the country. With this partnership, Kia’s K-Charge ecosystem will grow to more than 15,000 charging touchpoints, aiming to enhance convenience and reliability for its EV customers.

As part of the agreement, over 3,000 BPCL charging stations will be integrated into the K-Charge platform, providing wider accessibility and helping reduce range anxiety — a major challenge that continues to hinder EV adoption in India.
Kia Strengthens EV Ecosystem with Seamless, Nationwide Charging Access
The collaboration is designed to improve the day-to-day usability of electric vehicles by giving customers seamless access to a broader charging network spread across major urban centres, national highways and inter-city travel corridors. Kia stated that integrating BPCL’s established infrastructure will further enable customers to plan long journeys more effectively without relying heavily on limited or standalone charging options. This enhanced accessibility is expected to strengthen user confidence and encourage more consumers to consider electric mobility.
K-Charge can be accessed via the MyKia app as well as the Kia India website, offering users a unified digital platform to locate charging stations, navigate to the nearest charger and make hassle-free online payments. This streamlined experience aims to simplify the charging process and support the transition to a more connected EV ecosystem.
Kia Aligns Charging Expansion with Launch of Carens Clavis EV, EV6 and EV9
The MoU was finalised during India Energy Week 2026, held from January 27 to 30 at the ONGC Academy Training Institute in Goa. Kia India also highlighted that the expansion of the charging network aligns with its growing electric vehicle line-up in the country. Models such as the made-in-India Carens Clavis EV and global offerings including the EV6 and EV9 are expected to contribute to the company’s strengthened presence in the rapidly evolving Indian EV market.
Summary:
Kia India has partnered with BPCL to expand its K-Charge network to over 15,000 EV charging points, integrating 3,000 BPCL stations to improve accessibility and reduce range anxiety. The collaboration enhances long-distance usability, supports digital payments via MyKia, and aligns with Kia’s growing EV line-up, including the Carens Clavis EV, EV6 and EV9.
